I was watching “The Devil Wears Prada” last week. It got me into thinking about image and fashion.

Is it really important how we dress? Does it affect your personality? Do you judge people by the way they look like?

I was always the type who didn’t care much about fashion. I never really cared about what I wear. I mean, it didn’t make any difference if I bought my clothes or mum did. Sometimes we used to go together and I would say I want this, she’s like yes or no and I wouldn’t really insist on anything. 

Then I got engaged and I still didn’t know how to dress! I didn’t know to use make-up, actually I never used it anyway. I must have been one of the very few in college who never wore it. I was always wondering how those girls had the time to apply all that and choose that bag and that shoe and do that hair! My hair was in ponytails all the time! I could barely open my eyes, let alone apply make-up lol! Now, I might use a bit of kohl and mascara but only very rarely. I feel it’s a big deal when I put it on, maybe because I am not used to it. Mind you I do like make-up but I don’t know how to apply it plus there’s no occasion. I wouldn’t apply make-up to go shopping for example lol! 

Anyways, I do get some designer bags/shoes and stuff but I don’t FEEL the thing some people feel about them. I would buy a bag because I like it, because it’s practical or for a certain purpose: cheap or expensive. I never had this feeling that I HAVE to have this bag or whatever. I just buy what I love.

Yeah I do like neat things (Who doesn’t?) but honestly, when I look at people, I don’t check out what they are wearing. Their jewels, shoes, bags, the lot. Sometimes people ask me if I went somewhere, like how was the party, the decoration or what the people were wearing and I am like “I don’t know I didn’t check”. They would give me that look “3ayyal shino sawwaytay?!!” and I am like “I don’t know I just ate and talked to people!” looool

I don’t like it when I am talking to people, they look at me from head to toe, if you what I mean. Checking out everything.. WHAT’s THAT ABOUT?!
